FRIEDEN is made in Europe, made in Ukraine, made in Taiwan. We believe responsible clothing should be more than sustainable; it should actively support people and planet Earth beyond environmental issues. This is why, in addition to using sustainable fabrics, we produce principled:Manufacturing locally, in solidarity with Ukraine, and choosing Taiwan over other countries for specific productions that aren’t available nearby. FRIEDEN is committed to creating meaningful collaborations with partners, pushing the boundaries of ethical and sustainable clothing manufacturing at large.
DISARMING FABRICS Incorporating deadstock and recycling processes, we have developed our very own upcycling technique called ‘disarming’ – A unique concept to FRIEDEN that turns discarded military surplus, an almost endless source of highest-quality deadstock garments, into symbolic garments, allowing former army wear to oppose war and stand for peace throughout its lifetime (see our S/S21 collection here). Most of our produced garments are made using 100% organic cotton, certified by GOTS and OCS standards. Designs are printed locally with water-based inks.
GIVING Donating part of the proceeds with every item sold, FRIEDEN is determined to support causes and address social issues with each garment and collection. We have made it our core mission and design language to confront but also give back and champion those who make a difference in the world.
Truth is, creating honest clothing that responds to the shifting and evolving challenges of the world isn't easy. However, FRIEDEN remains dedicated to making fashion with high ideals and a moral compass pointing towards an optimistic and well-dressed future for all.
