FRIEDEN S/S20 turned memories of the ‘Lonsdale Youth’ into messages of empathy, kindness, and equality. The ‘Lonsdale Youth’ was an extreme violent, far-right movement of teenagers across The Netherlands, Germany, Poland, France, Spain, and Italy, who appropriated sportswear brands such as Lonsdale for themselves. By flipping these logos and their associations and playing with different fashion codes linked to these groups, this campaign aims to disarm and claim back the aesthetics misused by those spreading hate. With part of the proceeds of this collection, we donated to organizations worldwide fighting racial injustice.
